Education
The Education Initiative is the core of what we do here at StC. We implement our core curriculum in schools, starting with the St. Vrain Valley School District located in Longmont, Colorado. StC conducts monthly presentations with select classrooms to educate kids about marine conservation in the most hands-on way possible. We use a variety of video-demonstrations, simulations, and experiments combined with educational content about ocean-related topics such as invertebrate and vertebrate animals, ecosystems, oceanography, and recycling to inspire conservation at a young age. We also share this curriculum online so teachers all over the world can utilize our lessons.

Q&A Blog
Our Q&A Blog is part of our Sustainability Initiative. StC was founded as a Silver Creek Leadership Academy Capstone Project, and was therefore only required to function for the 2017/18 school year. However, here at Sea the Change, we believe in challenge. This part of our blog connects classrooms around the world with marine biologists and oceanographers, and is instrumental to our goal to educate and inspire. Teachers and students have the opportunity to send in questions via email or video to which StC will respond with a video answer from our personal panel of marine biologists and oceanographers. These questions can range from career questions to scientific inquiries, and benefit kids and adults who care about our ocean.
Aquarium Visits
We just finished our first aquarium visit for April 2018. This amazing visit gave elementary-schoolers the opportunity to see marine life up close and personal! Donations received by Sea the Change throughout the year were be applied to this field trip so that any child in the St. Vrain Valley School District could afford to visit the Denver Aquarium. This field trip experience will hopefully expand passed this year to help educate and inspire local kids to conserve their environment with a fun and engaging experience.
